I have found these bugs in K-Meleon 1.6.0a3 (Build 4, 2010-03-01, Gecko 1.9.1)

Under Preference

Under Macro Extensions

I unchecked Zoom, NewsFox, Mail and IE and restarted K-Meleon but it failed to start.

It showed an error

Therefore, I had to delete all K-Meleon folders in User Folder and reinstall for it to work again

I dont want to be nitpicky, but please consider adding the version to the title. If someone reads this in a few months they can so easily overlook that note in your post and think this thread were for the released version.... Hardly anyone reads carefully anymore these days :-/

I think I added the version in the heading

It seems to be the combination of mail and zoom being set to false which causes the problem. I did Zoom, NewsFox, Mail and IE one at a time and then in combination. The failure to start was with Zoom and Mail.

By the way, chrismt, you can just edit the line in your Prefs.js file and get KM to restart.

user_pref("kmeleon.plugins.macros.modules.mail.load", true);
user_pref("kmeleon.plugins.macros.modules.newsfox.load", false);
user_pref("kmeleon.plugins.macros.modules.zoom.load", false);

Hi, chrismt,

I guess siria was referring to your not mentioning this alpha version (a3 build 4?) being concerned by this bug. Things may be changing quickly during "alpha" status.

Siria was talking about me not mentioning the version in the topic so I have mentioned it.

He was saying that people will think that this bug is for the stable version if i didn't mention it.

There is a lot of changes coming to Mozilla with a new JavaScript and stuff like that.

I think it would be difficult for K-Meleon to adopt to it fast

Well, I tried to reproduce, but KM started normal, no error.
May not mean much though, being on win98se ;-)

If you have this problem edit pref.js file in your profile and change some or both of this pref values to true:
user_pref("kmeleon.plugins.macros.modules.mail.load", false);
user_pref("kmeleon.plugins.macros.modules.zoom.load", false);

I think that, when you change both prefs, K-Meleon try to delete or hide the toolbar icons of this tools and this produce the crash at startup.
