Hessitation When Loading Page

Hello,
It seems this affects the majority of browsers out today. While loading a site, k-meleon, will freeze up a few seconds while the page is loading. Is there anyway to prevent this?

browsers of yesterday, were able to scroll without hessitation while images were loading. Today it seems the majority of browsers lock up while images are loading. It seems that the speed of the processor of the computer plays a role with this, but with the fastest computers i still notice hessitation.

any ideas? Thank you! k-meleon is still the best there is.

Just tried again, and really, I have no prob scrolling while images are loading. Perhaps some particular sites? Or some security program jumping in?? Some javascript stuff?

engadget.com for example freezes half way through loading. when using google chrome i don't have a problem, but again that is a lighter browser.

Chrome does not run lighter but has a newer JavaScript engine. Use Chrome or K-meleon 1.6 prototype (also new Script engine) on Script heavy pages. The later is easier on resources.

p.s. engadget.com makes my Turion 64 with 4 GB RAM sweat. Cooler starts.
Looked into console, that page is ripe with errors.
No idea whether faults or scripts cause the burden.

I tried engadget.com too.
Yes, scrolling freezes for 2-5 sec on KM 1.54 only.
Neither FF 3.62 nor KM 1.6, nor Iron 5.0 have this issue. At least I didn't see it.
I have Prescott 3.6 Ghz with 3 Gb of RAM.

Edited.
If Javascript is disabled on engadget.com KM 1.54 doesn't freeze its scrolling.
