Quite recently I've run into problems with Kmeleon hanging for a long time after requesting it to open--from desktop or loader. The program launches but waits at least 4 seconds for the home page to come on, where before it was almost instant (one second or less). This also happens if Kmeleon has been left open for a extended period of time without use.

The system: Dell Dimension 2400, XP Pro SP3beta, 2.2 ghz P4, 1 gig RAM, 300 gig HD a third full.

I know this is local to my PC because the problem does not occur in the other computers running latest Kmeleon.

Here's what I've done so far:

1. Uninstalled Kmeleon 1.1.3
2. Deleted application directory
3. Ran several Registry cleaning & optimizing applications
4. Ran several "Cleanup" applications.
5. Reinstalled 1.1.2
6. Ran CHKDSK at startup
7. Ran XP in safe mode with networking--same Kemeleon delay

Any ideas?

Check if you proxy configuration is corrected.

K-Meleon in Spanish

Yes... mine slowed-down too.

As soon as I double-click the k-meleon icon... it takes around 10 seconds to even get to open my home-page. Sometimes longer.

Maxthon and Firefox are faster to open.

But, when K-Meleon was newly-installed... it was much much faster.

What do you think caused the slowing down of the process?
