Self signed certificate sites problem (1.6.x)

With 1.6b2 appears a button and doesn't work if the encrypted site is inside a frame.

With JamesD builds, something gets fixed, because appears 3 buttons, but with the same behavior (with frames) and only works the "continue..." button. You can't choose anything sad smiley examine the certificate or open certificate manager, accept it permanently, etc. Only temporary, by clicking on continue, and as I said, only if the page isn't in a frame.

Do you have the same problem? This bug is not in the bug tracker.

This is a test sites from openssl pages.

P.S.: as a paradox, the old dialog window for self signed certificates, is still inside the k-meleon.exe file, according to Reshack viewer.

On this, no one has a hint, right? I'll proceed to create a bug if no one answers smiling smiley

IMHO Yes, I will move this thread to bugs.

Yes, sorry, I tend to post in General to ask first about bugs... :/ I thought to contact you to move it so, in some way, I was in the right direction tongue sticking out smiley

Posting in General first is just perfect IMHO. Gets more attention there.
And it can be relocated when it looks like a new bug.

Way to many people post things in Bugs that should not be posted there.
That creates clutter because the undecided things remain.

Many thanks for the link.
Can you provide a link to reproduce
your problem inside a frame?

That was for bug #1315 in another thread.
Buttons work in a modified beta.

Easy, just create an html in your desktop with this code and test from there:
<html>
<body>
<iframe width="100%" height="100%" src="https://www.pcwebshop.co.uk/">;
</body>
</html>

(I don't know why is shown a semicolon in the code :-?, but it doesn't harm)

If it has newer GRE files and/or is recompiled "correctly" I don't doubt it, but this is not related at all with the bug you say. There isn't anything overlapping anything.

The buttons are there and are click-able but they don't work. Only works "continue" if not frames, and no one if it is inside a frame.

I don't know, but it wouldn't be a bad idea.

Why should we waste time, if there are no real life examples?
All content should be on the same server.

I'm using XP and there is no semicolon in that frame.
It is your system or one of your content filters.

It is related. smiling smiley

I've discussed this with disrupted in another thread
and implemented access rights to 'View Certificate'-
and 'Certificate Manager' dialogs for XUL.

The buttons only work in unreleased beta and the
second browser window doesn't pop up anymore.

JamesD probably took the jar from beta3 Chrome folder.
We can patch your embed.jar with XUL and JS to
remove the invalid buttons and display information
for adding exceptions, if you upload it somewhere.

Implementing KM 1.54's dialogs or any other
final solution requires a lot of servers
with invalid certificates, a new beta including
full access to CVS, bug server and download page.

Tested from local html in a frame:
- Old FF4 beta denies access without options.
- In my Beta only Certificate Manager button works.

Tested without frames:
- Old FF4 beta denies access without options.
- In my Beta all buttons work.

You can always use Certificate Manager to add
exceptions for those sites. (You already knew that.)

After reading you, I find asking myself, "Why did he ask?"

And, sorry, I can't provide an example in the terms you request as it is a private site (not mine or personal site, but I don't want to disclose it, just a private surfing practice not accessible to everyone). But as I told above, it can be tested that way (it's exactly the same behavior), even if you don't like it.

Bye

@JohnHell
...even if you don't like it.
Only irresolute.

Try to get a modified version from project owner.
It was already in the sources.

To enable Continue... button inside frame,
the following lines in BrowserGlue must be modified:

remove double-slash:
//::NewURI(getter_AddRefs(uri), CStringToNSString(siteUri));

add double-slash:
mpBrowserView->GetBrowserWrapper()->GetCurrentURI(getter_AddRefs(uri));
