Hi,

I'm having a bit of a problem with Iframes. Normally, I have Iframes switched off via the KM privacy tools, as I regard iframes in the main, to not be required (and a potential security risk). However, I run my own forum and am soon planning to begin a project which will require my using an iframe to embed a new feature (a resource rich calendar). The problem is, even when I turn iframes back on in the KM privacy tools, I'm unable to see the test iframes on my forum that I'm using to prepare for the project. Others are able to see them with their various browsers (so it isn't something set wrong with forum or iframe code), but they are invisible in my KM browser. Is there some setting I need to change in the depths somewhere, or is it some sort of bug or missing capability in KM? Or is it KM not playing well with my forum software?

KM version: 1.5.4
Windows XP SP3 Home (all updates current)
Forum version: PHPBB3

I would greatly appreciate any advice.

Update: Strange...all of a sudden I can now see the test iframes on my forum. I've closed KM a few times today as I've been upgrading it with a few extensions. Closing KM is the only thing I've done differently. Is it then a requirement that when turning iframes back on via the privacy tools,KM must be restarted for the change to take effect? Or is something else going on?

Are you talking about browser.frames.enabled?
Same as 'Tools/Privacy/Block Frames'.

If I turn on frames in about:config,
iframes are shown in new browser windows (CTRL+N).
If I turn off frames in about:config,
no iframes are shown in new browser windows (CTRL+N).

Tested on samples below.

I see...I think. Well, I wasn't getting any new window coming up (which I suppose only happens if you press CTRL+N), but they did appear in the original tab when I revisited and scrolled up through the particular forum thread in that tab some time after a few browser restarts. I'm still trying to get used to how this browser works and am unused to going into 'about:config' in browsers or using hotkeys or so many things requiring new windows instead of changing within the tab in question or just creating a new tab and exactly when those rules apply (I've only been using KM for a few months). It's a learning curve.

Use force reload (not just reload) or clear cache.
Didn't block frames that way before and don't have to.

You can use Preferences (F2).
