Problem with K-meleon on the Satellite Guys site

What is happening is SatelliteGuys ads are being displayed over my messages
so that I can not read them. The head Guru there has looked into it and this
does not happen with Firefox. I seem to be the only one having problems.
K-meleon works fine everywhere else. They just installed new software for
the site and something in K-meleon is probably not compatible.
SatelliteGuys has gone from vbulletin 3.xx to vBulletin 4.07
I going to check my settings but I doubt I will be able to find the problem.
Sure could use some advice. Kmeleon is a great browser.
Thank you for it.

You can probably block those specific ads, or use some other css settings for that site to fix it.

But frankly, sites with "overlapping" probs seem to grow into a real pest lately, and usually those sites work fine when using KM 1.6 which has a gecko 1.9.x engine. Desga has just announced he'll have a beta version finished in the next days, am very glad about that :-)

If you wanna try, here's his last "1.6 preBeta" version for download:

It's set to have the profiles inside its own program folder, so doesn't mess with any other installed KM-versions. You can just unzip and use it, if you like. Possibly the user agent needs a reset to default, someone posted today he believes he didn't change a thing and the UA was custom out of the box in preBeta. No idea, can't confirm because haven't tried it, first thing I did was copy over my 154 profile folder and that has own settings ;-)

Thanks for answering Siria,

I turned off Javascript and used k-meleon to go into the SatelliteGuys site
and everything worked fine.

Now what do I do in K-meleon. Leave it permanently off or What?

I handle situations like that with Policies Manager. You can find it in the extensions site http://kmext.sourceforge.net/ext1.htm

Download and un-zip into KM root directory.

 Oh, asking ME there can only be one answer, hehe  grinning smiley
You can browser much faster und much safer if JS is off! tongue sticking out smiley (not all folks here agree though, LOL!)
To be more serious, I just assume KM1.6 will work okay, but if you're on KM154 yet, why not try the privacy toolbar? (View > Toolbars > Privacy). By default there are some of the buttons visible (JS, cookies etc.), but you can hide all except JS if you only want a single button. Then all it takes to toggle JS is a quick click on that button.
Or use the shortcut for toggling JS: F7. But the advantage of the button is that you're always aware of the current state, whether something is allowed or not
