sessions.json bloat

Over time sessions.json has been growing, when I look into it (with a text editor) each session entry has multiple duplicated entries, some related to the entry plus many that "seem" to be the url of my home page

I would liek to trim sessions.json back to it's minimum required size

does anyone know how/if sessions.json can be cleaned, short of wiping and starting a fresh

Not a bug.
The duplicates are the tabhistory URLs, when flipping inside a tab back and forth - right?
With a clever script those can sure be deleted, after making a backup copy of the file, for example it could be displayed like a webpage and new text by macro copied to clipboard. But such a script, which must not simply keep the first entries, but pick the lines at position [index], is a bit too tricky for my anti-JS-self...
Have only analyzed the syntax, but for experts it may even be simple??
