When I try to access a FTP via link or enter the adress directly to the location bar (a ftp://ftp.xxx.com adress), K-Meleon shows "Beginnign FTP Transaction" and "connecting to ftp.xxx.com". But it opens a Save dialog with the name of the dir you try to access or uses a temporary files name (like "x8vco7t"). But if you try to access a dir, that isn't there you get a dialog box telling you "No such file or directory".

I tried different FTPs like ftp.mozilla.org, ftp.microsoft.com and others. Works in other browsers (so no proxy-related problem)

maybe this little notice helps to find the reason...
it's similar to the behavior K-Meleon/Mozilla shows on direct acess to local files (i reported that "bug" earlier).
