Can't open file: links

On our intranet we have a link like
<a target="_blank" href="file:///G:/Intranet//newsletter.pdf">
Newsletter</a>

When I click the link nothing happens. What's up?
I have the Acrobat plugin installed.

Btw, sorry for complaining so much. K-Meleon is really the best browser I've tried out and since I use it as my main browser I find things like this.

Staffan,

This is a security issue with Mozilla. It won't let you open local files from a web page. I've been talking to their security people about this and a related issue and I'll post up a fix as soon as I get it all sorted out.
