1. Java; 2. Opera skin???

1. Java
I sometimes use a site that uses an applet to download files (why??? strange site...).

When I try under K-Meleon, it refuses to load. The Java console reports "class not found".

The site does say that it will only work under IE, but if KMeleon is standards compliant, shouldn't it work with it as well??
2. Opera skin
Why doesn't someone design an opera-style skin??

1: K-Meleon may be standards compliant, but IE isn't; so just because something works in IE doesn't mean it's using standards.

2: Because Opera's interface sucks?

IE isnt just NOT standards compliant it totally fubars standards, their "JAVA" virtual machine was altered to only work in Windows, to display non-stands compliant JAVA code (which brings about NEW security problems that JAVA never had) and it's still based on JAVA 1.1, SUN is on 1.3.1_01, which is faster, better, more stable, more secure, and more functional, and a 1.4 release is in Beta.

Internet Explorer ALSO does not use a stands-complaint HTML renderer, this is excess baggage from the browser war with Netscape, MS would pay a site to lock out Netscape users or make it so their pages only worked in IE, Frontpage also uses these tags, which is why these so-called web developers hate Netscape, cause they have to either learn real HTML and fix the bad coding that Frontpage spewed out or write it from scratch to begin with, standards don't work in IE, and IE's proprietary crap doesnt work in any other browser.

Also, IE 5.5 SP2 and 6 don't use standard plug-ins anymore, they were crippled so as to only use ActiveX, that way, a lazy or MS-bribed developer can/will make a plug-in for IE that won't work in Netscape, Opera, Mozilla, Beonex, Konqueror, Galeon, K-Meleon, NetPositive, WEBTV, or Dreamcast/PS2 browsers, together, these "rebel browsers" make up about 30% of the Internet, and these sites are losing business cause they can't get their head out of the sand.

And as for Opera, it's a fast, standards compliant browser, but 1. It's too pricey to buy, and too crappy to endure ad's for, besides, K-Meleon is faster.

Also, Opera's interface is ugly and convoluted, nuff said.
