The only mailer I have ever used is Pegasus in all my 4 years on line (am I the only one in the world never to have used Outlook?!) and I have recently ungraded that to Version 4.

It appears in the re-write of the code there is a new module (wsendto.exe) that handles the URL:Mailto call, and it doesn't work in K-Meleon - it hangs - but neither application crashes.

Now, I believe this is a fault with Pegasus, and I will be notifying the Pegasus Dev Team of this... but in the meantime, here is how to get the URL:Mailto to work with Pegasus.

In Win Explorer goto > Folder Options > File Types and navigate to the ext:

N/A URL:Mailto protocol

Edit it, and for the 'open' action use this command:

C:\PMAIL\WINPM-32.exe -t %1

Pegasus will now function as should when a Mailto URL is clicked within K-Meleon.

Well I seldom uses oulook as well and now Peg is my mailer client as well (now 4.01)

I don't have problems to click on a mailto in KM.
Peg opens and I have a compose window.

Being curious I checked my statement and it says: winpm-32.exe -A -T

It's weird as the switches are:

-A (no parameter)
Forces Pegasus Mail to run in standalone mode, ignoring any NetWare connection.

-T <address>
Specify the primary addressee of the message

I don't specify an address, but it finds it.
You have to specify %1 apparently. (unless it wasn't there before)

Anyway either system works.

Are you using Ver 4.10? The default Mailto association with that is:

C:\Pmail\wsendto.exe "%1"

Which doesn't work in K (not on my system, any way).

well...I use Pegasus Mail 4.01,as my only mailer since years, too. And no problems with mailto: in K-Meleon. I click it and a Pegasus window and a "New message" window appears inside of Pegasus Mail...
