When I use Windows Media plugin for Netscape to open a WM file directly from K-Meleon, everything is usually fine with the media file but as Windows Media Player opens itself in the foreground of the webpage, the background does not refresh itself and there remains a non-disappearing rectangular empty area when I move the WMP window, which is smaller, or even when the file has finished playing. To get the webpage back to normal (to refresh the page), I have to press the back button in K-Meleon. Otherwise the rectangular empty area remains on the page and can become even larger if I further move the WMP window.
Tested this on two computers (Win98SE), it always happened with K-Meleon and did not happen with IE5. I think this has also happened with K-Meleon and QuickTime plugin but I cannot remember exactly.
Some pages (just examples) where this can be tested are:
http://www.nationalgeographic.com/kids/creature_feature/0004/polar.html
and
videos (Windows Media) on
http://www.garbage.com
I think this may have to do with K-Meleon's (or Mozilla's) rendering features. Is that problem known to others?
