I find that K-M .6 does not Save some graphics. The problem can be found at www.yahoo.com/Maps, where I cannot save a map .gif to disk. If I enter the same URL in Opera, it will save it the map, so there is no image protection involved.

A sample URL is

My system is NT 4, SP6a, plus security updates. Not running any inernet modifiers or trick software.

huh, weird. maybe the string getting passed to the getSaveFilename dialog is too long? i dunno.

It's probably because the image has no file extension so the browser doesn't know to recognize it as such. We might need to file a bug at Mozilla on this if it is also a problem in MFCEmbed.

yeah, it's not a file extension problem, i think; that would result in something like the problem in <a href="http://kmeleonbrowser.org/forum/read.php?f=4&i=1562&t=1562">this thread</a>... it actually brings up the correct context menu when you right-click, but if you select 'save image as...' nothing happens. i also found that trying to save the page itself produced the same results. also, opening the image in it's own window with 'view image' and trying to save that page had the same problem.

really? weird. i tried enabling javascript to see if that might be a factor,
but it doesn't seem to be. but i definitely get a normal image context menu
when right-clicking, with all the normal options... the 'save image as...' just
doesn't seem to want to work... the rest of the chrome flickers in a barely
perceptible way when i try it, though, so *something's* happening. and, like
i said, if i open the image URL directly and try to use File>Save as... that
doesn't work either. if i try to save the original page itself, the Save dialog
really goes wonky, especially the dropdown for 'File Type'.

i'm still guessing it's an overflow thing... but i don't know.

That particular bug was long present in Mozilla builds. It's fixed now, though. I can't say whether that bug was present at the time KM was built, but i'd suppose so.
