K-Meleon has stopped working

Hi. Having problems. K-Meleon has apparently died. Everything is good one night and then the next morning when starting the browser a window titled "Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library" pops up with the error:
-
This application has requested the runtime to terminate in an unusual way.
Please contact the application's support team for more information.
-
The error pops every time the application is started now. I don't recall any installations, OS updates, any changes at all, but I could easily be wrong. Do you suppose there's any way to get the program up and running again or is is it time to move to a new OS?
OS: Windows 2000 sp4
K-Meleon version: 1.1.0.3

First try it with a new profile. Under C:\Documents and Settings\<user name>\Application Data\, rename the folder "K-Meleon" (e.g. to "_K-Meleon") and then restart km.
If that doesn't help. Delete the newly created "K-Meleon" folder, rename "_K-Meleon" back to "K-Meleon". Then uninstall and reinstall km.

Your dlls (msvcp71.dll, msvcr71.dll) can be corrupted or damages for a bad close system or electrical interrupted, also you migth scan your system with an antivir you can have a virus. If K-Meleon bad closed profile can be damage, as kko says, try create a new profile.

Ok. Thanks for the advice. I'll give all those a closer look tomorrow and see how everything goes.

All right, fixed. The problem was most likely due to corrupt registry from multiple installations. And I think the final straw was the 1.12 update having trouble deciding which installation was current. The fix was to clear out everything under Documents and settings and uninstall. New setup runs right out of the box no problem.
Don't know why I didn't think to try that my self. Thanks very much.
