I'm running XP with SP3 and Kmeleon 1.5.0. When I first start Kmeleon it spikes the CPU load to 99 in the Windows Task Manager. Occasionally when I'm running Kmeleon the CPU load will spike and the browser window will freeze for 30 seconds to a minute before returning to "normal" levels.

Any idea why this is happening?

Are you using some macro or plugin with K-Meleon?

Try with a different skin. A damaged skin can spike resource usage up to the point where K-Meleon does react or does not start any more.

The only plugin I'm using is adblock plus. I haven't tried a different skin, but will do so tonight.
