Crash on font download

When I try to use en.wikipedia.org, KM pops up a dialog saying it wants to download a font for Japanese (or some such Asian language). No matter whether I say OK or Cancel, KM crashes as soon as I dismiss that dialog.

Anyone else having this problem?

Running KM 1.5.2, but had the same problem with 1.5.0. OS is Win98SE.

Thanks for any suggestions anyone may be able to offer.

D

That stops the crashes, though I'd call it a workaround rather than a bug fix.

Either way, thanks! At least I can now look stuff up in WiPe.

No bug when it happens only at Your PC. Hardly any win98 left to test.
My WinME never crashed for strange fonts.

But that was on earlier K-M 1,5 version - ME is not in online use any more.

i can't confirm if it's a bug because i have japanese support already installed in win98 so can't reproduce without uninstalling it first.

for now , you need to download this:
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/ie6/downloads/recommended/ime/install.mspx
select japanese with language pack or additional languages if you'll need them.. this should install the required fonts wikipedia is asking for. once the fonts are installed to the fonts folder, k-meleon should see them and call them when a site requires a specific language font.

K-Meleon forum is powered by Phorum.
