master password

When signing in to email for first time, the password manager window appears and asks if you want to save the login information or not. When you click "yes", another window comes up that says sensitive information is not safe, and that extra security can be had by using a master password, but then it does not give the option to have a master password. Moreover, under the "Security" or "Privacy" Tab, there are not options to create a Master Password. So, how and where does one create a Master Password?

I don't use it, but there are some settings in

Sorry I don't know anything about passwords except where to find some prefs, since personally I only use cookies, so that's you the experts for password stuff

Well, not really. I asked Dorian on forum once, but he did not answered. Maybe he does not know. I just hope it is not some 32kb algorithm that was broken years ago and which even a retard with proper software can break. grinning smiley

doulos, this message is triggered the first time you choose to save a password.

it's just a compulsory no liability disclaimer.. it doesn't necessarily mean that your passwords will be hacked or become compromised by a remote machine.. it's simply an alert so you know that those passwords can be viewable through the passwords manager when you click on the view pw button. if you don;t share your computers with strangers in the same household then you needn't worry but if you're using a shared pc like in a college campus etc that's when it's recommended to use a master passowrd. you can set a master password through the preferences>privacy panel ..you can use different encryption methods when clicking on crypto devices button as shown in snapshot :
