Copy Hyperlinks as 'Text' Option Via Context Menu

Hello,

What would be very nice (although quite basic), is to be able to highlight a hyperlink in a page, right click and simply copy it as plain text rather then a link. The only way currently that it seems this can be done is using CTRL + C on the keyboard. That works, but sometimes you just want to be working with the mouse and don't want to be using the keyboard. Most browsers have the simple 'copy' option in their context menues for hyperlinks, hotlinks, urls etc,it would be very handy if it could be added to K-Meleon.

Thanks and Appreciation,

Michael

I don't understand what you want.

If I Copy Link URL, and paste it in a text editor, it's obvious that we have copied plain text. It's just the program using this string which says it's a plain text string, it's an URL link ...

Are-you wanting to copy the texte which materialize a link ?
Example, in the following link K-Meleon, are-you wanting to copy the string 'K-Meleon' instead of the string (the URL, if you prefer) 'http://kmeleon.sourceforge.net/';

Try to explain exactly what you want to say.

The problem seems to be that KM 'sees' the link as a link. It does not matter if you highlight it or click it. If you highlight some text on a page then that text is in a macro variable called $SelectedText. If you highlight a link then $SelectedText is not filled. If $SelectedText is empty then a macro, run from a context menu, does not have anything to copy to the clipboard. It is easy to see this. Highlight a link and right click for the context menu. Then highlight some text and right click for the context menu. You will notice that they are different menus.

Ctrl C and Ctrl V work because they are system commands and not part of KM.

Edit: Just found something. Have a look at this.

Michael, select the hyperlink text then right-click outside of the hyperlink/highlighted text, you will then have the copy function you seek. The key is to not right-click on the highlighted bit. If you wish to have both url and text copy functions available on the highlighted hyperlink then apply siria's simple context menu fix in the blue text here: http://kmeleonbrowser.org/forum/read.php?1,100876

Thanks linky, this is exactly the solution I was looking for! I had always been right clicking directly on the highlighted hyperlink so that a simple 'copy' was never an option. My apologies if my innitial post didn't explain what I was after well enough. I guess, I'm still having to learn how to use this browser smiling smiley

Yes, sorry, that's exactly what I was wanting to do.
