Km 1.5.1 supports that.

Open Edit > Configuration > Browser Configuration. Right-click any preference and choose New > Integer. Enter browser.tabs.closeButtons for the name of the new pref and 1 for the value. Restart km.

Thanks to the K-Meleon team . . . for letting us know that this 'feature' is now available . . . IF DESIRED grinning smiley . . . as of K-Meleon 1.5.1 .

As always, K-Meleon is the best, and, again, thanks for the best browser.

I prefer, not to change the topic . . of this thread . . . from . . . "no cross on tabs" . . . but . . . since you asked:

"why two?"

. . . the answer is . . . even though I ( Sliderule ) first joined this forum in January 2002 . . . I can no longer log in as "sliderule" . . . so . . . I just created a second name.

Sliderule2 and / or Sliderule grinning smiley

I have tried the new pref for "X on the tabs" two times. Always forces a shutdown on KM 1.5.1

This is the pref that I used on the last attempt.

setpref(INT, "browser.tabs.closeButtons", 1 );

Very nice!
Avaited this feature a long time. (Have a post somewhere.)

Now if only KM could get some developing directives so that good features from older version don't simply dissapear in newer ones.

Any idea how to change the crosses color? Would like it to have the same colour as the tab. Too colourful at the moment. :-(

Currently the cross is either the standard one or the one from the windows theme when themes are available.

It was an instant success - I didn't even have to restart. I would think that this option, the cross-close, would be the default or a tab preference rather than a coding option. That said, this is a great browser.

KM 1.5.1 On Windows Vista Ultimate.

It doesn't even let me start KM...as it goes straight to the "K-M has stopped working....".I haven't done any tweaks besides moving the menus,URL bar, and all that other stuff around.

1.) (or similar)= I try to translate from a non English version.

That's what I did last nite...and it has been working fine since then, so I just won't mess with the browser layout and hope that it doesn't crash anymore.I miss that compacted menu I had thought...but Thanks for your help.

I hope I understand what You want :s

Compcated menus button:

## code goes into toolbars.cfg of Your used skin.

Browser Con&figuration(22,20){
Options{
ID_PREFERENCES|Compact Menu
View Preferences. Right-click to view Compact Menu.
hottool.bmp[10]
hottool.bmp[10]
coldtool.bmp[10]

}

}

( button has different reaction on right mouse and left mouse click )

You need to bend/edit the bold lines to an existing picture of Your used skin's *.bmp. BTW. I can upload a skin that has it.

Changes in menus can be done with macros - AFAIRemeber You subtract lines via a macro. Thx for reading my comment. & Sorry if my comment/post is not helpful.

Hey, that's really nice! I'm new to KM (yesterday) and was missing that feature and hoping there was a way to implement it.

And like xpalladin, it was immediately effective and I didn't have to restart KM.
