When i click "back", i'd like km to scroll down to the my last scroll position. there is a scroll restore extension, but it does not do that.

it already does that by default.. i just tested to make sure here in km forums..the back button opens the previous page with the exact scroll position..do you mean something else? if that's the function you've meant and it isn't working then it's possibly something in your memory caching or messed profile..try testing with default profile (edit>manage profiles>create new profile for testing>ask at startup check)

scroll position

opened new link in same tab

clicked back button..and the exact scroll position was saved

(honest to God, the last snapshot is not the same first snapshot)

Possibly johnywhy wants this feature for encrypted, secure pages?
AFAIK extension = Exists! Want to use?
Else allow caching of secure pages.

what i observed--

i clicked a link to go forward one page, hit 'back', and arrived at same scroll position. good. the previous page did not reload, was already in cache (?).

then i clicked forward links 10 pages forward. then back, back, back to starting page. starting page reloads (not in cache?), and sticks to top-- does not scroll down to last scroll position.

not a password-authenticated site.

yeah..you probably need to increase your cache edit>preferences and fiddle there.. there could be also some hidden setting(about:config) that controls how many pages to save their scrolls but idn't know about it.. maybe desga does

i'd like to know how to do that.

i'm seeing some pages do NOT return to same scroll position, even if i only move 1 page away and come back.

Secure pages do not scroll back because they are not cached. I assume You mean that.

You can either allow secure pages to be cached else there is a Firefox extension that would do remember scroll position.

If You find the forum link to it or hack it Yourself. grinning smiley

p.s. If something that works on another PC - You can simply not try to insist that it generally does not work. The reason why it does not work sits before Your PC.

BTW. Did I tell You the nick for a slightly annoyed German?
