Spellchecker disabling

Question to both Dorian and roytam1.

Is it possible to make spellchecker to fully disable without browser restart?

For now it behaves so: if you select "Disable spellcheck" in some text-input field - it gets disabled here, BUT NOT on other pages unless you restart KM.

It will only disable in the tab you clicked on "Disable spellcheck".

For completely disabling spellcheck, goto kplugins prefs page and disable it. Restart is needed.

Just played around with it a bit.
Yes one would expect that the "default" pref defines the default setting in all tabs, but that pref seems not to work anymore at all.

What does still work nicely, are the old line-styling gimmicks!
Form (wavy, dotted, dashed), color, thickness grinning smiley
So if the goal is mainly to get rid of the red waves, just set the thickness to zero (e.g. by macro menu). This seems to work across all tabs. Or use an unobtrusive gray thin dotted line...

old macro from 2011: http://kmeleonbrowser.org/forum/read.php?9,113831
(if I recall correctly, it was mainly a pref-toggle macro, not interfering with spelling itself)

...and the max-misspellings pref seems to be ignored too?

valid kmeleon.plugins.spelltest.max_suggests = 5 to 30

Where is this macro menu located? ... I looked in the macro folder and there is no Spellcheck macro there. I would like to check out these other line styles. The gray line seems interesting ... are these all listed and then you can check or choose the line style you want.

I will probably stay with the red wavy line, I like that style but would like to see the other choices in action.

Thanks ...
