This functionality is my favorite one in IE. It is mighty handy when you have a list of links to be opened consecutively.

Or how about left+right buttons=new window? I don't like using the mouse and keyboard at the same time

ctrl shift click = background
shift click = new window opening

1,2,3 nav windows
