Keyboard Shortcuts

Love KMeleon, there are two IE shortcuts I'd really recommend adopting:
1) Backspace goes back a page (unless your focus is in a text field)
2) The Intellimouse explorer back button works.
thanks, and keep up the good work!

Boy! Do i agree with the above recommendations. My only reason for using IE is the backspace support. This is such a natural thing!
One other request. The ability to disable request plugins so you are no longer prompted to install them. ie. I will NOT install flash. Flash is from the devil himself (and as expected is used by alot of spam sites). Each time the flash plugin comes up I have to click cancel. It would not nice to have an "always" disabled feature for this plugin.
My Two Cents.
p.s - Great Job!
pps. - Lower the memory footprint and you have a browser I would be willing to pay for! (upto 29MB on Win 2000 right now!, cache set at 10MB mem.)

some other recommendations on shortcuts:
- ctrl + l: location bar
- tab: scroll through elements INCLUDING the location bar
- a crtl + tab that actualy writes a \t on a textarea element

Currently, the URL\Location bar is mapped to CRTL-D [based on IE]. You want to use CTRL-L?? Go into Edit - Preferences - Configs and select the Accelerators tab. Add the following line:
CTRL L = ID_SELECT_URL
Click on OK and say YES to the change.
Restart the browser and you can now use CTRL-L

actually, isn't Ctrl-D in IE mapped to 'save to favorites' by default?

Po,
Not as far as I can tell in IE 6. CTRL-B opens up Favorites. Alt-A and Enter saves to Favorites.

oh... i never went past 5.5 (and don't intend to).
ctrl-d has always been the quick way to grab a favorite since i can recall... it doesn't bring up a dialog with a folder list or anything... just adds it.

Po,
Hmm...and I was told that CTRL-D always went to the Location bar. Guess I'm going to need to do some investigating here.

Po,
Good thing I'm not betting drinks here.
:-)
You're right. In IE, it's ALT-D that takes you to the URL bar. Funny, I was sure I was doing CTRL-D but apparently not. So, we probably need to correct that in the Accelerators so that CTRL-D isn't used for that purpose.

Yeah, doesn't F4 take you to the type-in bar in 95% of windows programs with one?
I want backspace for Back too...and I can't find any combination at all that lets you go forward and back.....

Ah, I foudn the forward and back, but I can't find how to close one window, like IE's ctrl-w to close the current one. How could I do that in kmeleon?

You can close one window by simply hitting ALT F4. To completely exit K-Meleon when multiple windows are open, just keep hitting ALT F4, or you can hit control-alt f4 to close all windows.
Oh, and one thing(I'm sure you're hearing a lot of this) is to correct the issue with backspace using the ID_NAV_BACK function when in a text entry field

Whoops, what I meant was I can't find the ID_ thing to assign a key combo to close one window, I want ctrl-w to handle it but so far I can only make it close them all.
