Hi,

today I discoverd k-meleon and installed it on my PC - woaw, I realy like that
browser (it is fast - faster as Netscape-6.01, mozilla-0.9.5 - and has a good response
to mouse actions, eg. open preferences menu etc., it is not a resource hog) :-)

... two things do I miss (a feature request):

1. a kind of history
2. if I move my mouse pointer above a link, there is no way to tell what kind of
link it is - it would be great if you can actually "see" what kind of link it is, eg. a
link to a ftp server, a direct download link to a *.tar.gz file, a link to a "mailto" or
which URL actualle is the link under your mouse pointer

keep up with your good work

bye

I'm not an actual k-meleon developer, so i won't respond to your first point except to say you're not the first to request it. As for #2, are you referring to the status bar? Maybe you turned it off by accident (i'm pretty sure it's on by default). Go to View>Toolbars and make sure Status Bar is checked. Another possibility is the site you tested this out on used javascript to hide URL info from the status bar. If you hold your mouse over any link in the k-meleon web site, you'll see that it works just fine. Anyway, hope this was helpful.

I'm sorry, after reading your posting, I discovered that feature *hhis*, you were right,
I had java/ -script enabled, so I guess, java-stuff hided that info ...

... after turning java-stuff off, I saw the "URL-info" on the status bar :-)

I hope this is again not my fault :-) ...

... for eg, take your forum. I visite one thread, go back, see again the index of
all threads. The visited thread is not shown in another color, the color of all links
are the same (for visited, "not visited").

It would be nice, if the "visited links" could be shown with another color?

bye bye

it should be noted that even when the visited link color IS operational in the browser, the style elements on this page override that function... don't use it as a test!

having said that, look here:

Hi,

I found the solution for the "info on link"-stuff :-) If I open a link with the option
"open in background" THAN no status bar appears.

... if I open a link with "open in new window", the status bar is available.
