A pacfile is much better at filtering content than the hosts file (because you can set image files to be blocked without blocking the sites) and at least one application generates them (The SpyBlocker Pacfile Generator).
However, they can only be used in Internet Explorer or Netscape at the moment. As the engine of KM owes a lot to Mozilla, how about making KM compatible with a pacfile?
Do pacfiles work under mozilla and mfcembed (mozillas embedding example)? If not, there's not much we can do about it.
