New Window/etc

Greetings. I just discovered k-meleon today -- I was looking for something faster
than IE that would also give me things like popup control.

There's a coupla IE features that I really like that would be nice in k-meleon:

1. In IE when I do "New Window", the new window is basically a clone of the parent,
displaying the same page and inheriting it's history.

2. In IE when you do a "Back", the link that you just followed is now outlined with
a dotted line, reminding you of the link you just took. I like this very much.

Thanks!

I would like to join Alan in point 1 of this request, although I think it would be better to leave the New Window command as it is and add a command ID for "Duplicate Window" e.g. in the right-click menu.

As for point 1 of Alan's message, you already have this possibility. Just go to
Edit -> Preferences -> Display. And just under the box where you can enter the
home page URL, you can choose what a new window should display.
Select "Current Page", et voilà you have IE new window behavior.

not quite. smiling smiley

what you have is a brand new baby window with no history, that happens to be displaying the same page as the last window... and the weird thing is, it seems to actually download the page again, which shouldn't be necessary...

Woops... This proves I don't use IE :-) And, by the way, this "feature" of IE always annoyed me: when I open a new window, I usually want it to be a blank page. So I'm really really glad KM offers the choice. Thanks a lot to the developers.

As for the downloading again of the web page, it effectively seems strange that KM doesn't use the cache copy of the page. This looks like a bug to me.
