Search engine privacy

I read an article http://www.franken.de/users/tentacle/papers/search-privacy.txt

that says many search engines pass along information to doubleclick and others. In this article, the suggest some things to incorporate into browsers to help protect our privacy. I thought I would pass this along for consideration in future versions of KM.

i would hope by now that people have realized that a good number of 'search engines' out there aren't nearly as intersted in getting information _to_ you as _from_ you, but for anyone not aware, that's a good 'heads up'... incidentally, this is the pref to disable referer sending in k-meleon:

user_pref("network.http.sendRefererHeader", 0);

keep in mind that setting it may break the functionality of certan sites, though.
