Clicking the "X" closes everything !

K-Meleon has the tab-window feature. Mozilla and Opera have it too.

But K-Meleon doesn't have what Opera and Mozilla have - that if you have multiple tab-window enabled - that is, if you have more than one tab window active, - when you click the "X" button on the upper-right-hand corner, Mozilla and Opera will ask you if you want to close ALL the windows, and offer you a chance to NOT do such a thing if you don't want to.

K-Meleon on the other hand, due to the lack of such a feature, sometimes when I want to close just a layer - that is, one of the many tab-windows I've opened, - and click on the WRONG "X" button -

I know that I suppose to click on the "little x with pieces of paper"
sign to close ONE tab-window

but sometimes I click on that "big-X" sign on the upper right-hand-corner, I LOST ALL THE LAYERS, ALL AT ONCE !

I hope that in the future version of K-M, you will make K-M prompt the user so to allow the user to NOT make stupid mistake if they don't want to.

Thank you !!

I think it's a normal way.

New and close layer button exists, and the window close button must close the window (and all the layers in).

And that's what K-Meleon does.

This is bug 658.

Unfortunately macros can't take care of this feature because the appplicable plugin commands aren't recognized quick enough when placed in the OnClose or OnQuit event macros, so I think it'll have to be coded.

Saw that the bug report was changed from K-M to plugin, does that mean this "feature" will always be us ?

No; it means that the affected component is not K-Meleon's core, but rather its Layers plugin, which controls the tab-like functionality.

See jsnj's reply above.

The problem isn't so simple. It may look like a plugin problem, but it's not !

The reason is, the plugin never get to launch before the entire browser closes, which means, if this problem is to be solved, it has to be hard-coded !

Can someone change the status on bugzilla to reflect the real situation, please ?

Thanks !

The status is correct. Even though some changes may have to be coded into the exe, it's still a layer plugin dependent request. So, the layers plugin and/or macros plugin might have to be altered too. BTW, RFE's don't get more attention based on whether they involve the exe or a plugin.
