Is there a way to auto detect proxy setting?

I use this at work and when our network goes down, we dialin to get to the internet.

I manually add out proxy.pac file in the auto proxy url box, but
the auto detect would be a nice feature.

AFAIK submenu in tools that lets You predefine Your common settings - did You try that?

Yes I did try it unless I'm doing something wrong..

It seems like it is either a proxy.pac file or a direct
connection though.

I'm looking for an auto detect so when I use a dialup it is a direct connection.
