There is a simple way to get a navy color background
with white text for all visited webpages for all
Gecko browsers.

Copy and paste the following at the end of your
profiles userContent.css which should be in your
profiles chrome folder. If there should be no existing
userContent.css , create a new one. Save it as
.css, not as .txt .

The colors can of course be adapted to your taste by replacing
them with e.g. black for #370072 to get a black background.

A high version number is no essential feature

K-Meleon is intended to be light and customizable. It still has many functions - it is wanted to do all browser work out of the box - but that does not include plugins.

Yes, it can be made a boutique browser, there are also versions for CD and USB.

To get a testbed You can create a new Profile with the Profile manager -
that is a submenu at Edit.

plugins (directory) = contains Netscape plugins
kplugins (directory) = contains the plugins that create K-Meleon's functionality
kmm = K-Meleon Macros (they are modular)
(most functionality is not in the exe but in the kplugins or in the kmm).

To search with Google using K-meleon :

I write the word/expression/name I am interested in in the URL box.

Then I click on the icon resembling planet Earth (this icon is just to the left of the URL box, if not it can be customized to be there) and

Voilá I get the results as if the search had been initiated from Google.
Even the Google search box appears along with the results in case the results aren't what you expected .

I am using version 1.1.3

There is one feature of both Opera, and SeaMonkey (and maybe Firefox) that I haven't figured out how to do with K-Meleon, but maybe it is possible ...

With SeaMonkey - I can type something in the search bar and have the Google search open in a new TAB (Layer) - Is there any way to do this in K-Meleon? (In K-meleon, it opens in the currrent tab. (I realize I can Ctrl-T and then Ctrl-G, but it's an extra keystroke and I'm lazy.

I like a lot of things about the browser, though - great work!!!

Search results open where "Typed URLs" are set to open in Advanced Preferences (hit F2).

Awesome - searchbar.dll still opens in the main window, but I can live with that, the google search from the URL bar works just fine.
