Hello.
I am a new K-Meleon user.
I relly like its speed and how memory efficient it is.
I do think you should put those parameters above all.

I miss one thing from Firefox - Auto google search.
Let's say when I write "Google notebook" in the address bar Firefox automatically uses Google "Feeling Lucky" feature.

Could I make K-Meleon do the same?

Thanks.

Drazick,

Normally, Google is the default search engine.

Select "Edit > Advanced Preferences" and expand "Browsing", select "Finding Websites", then select the tab "Web Search". You will find a list of expandable / selectable search engine possibilities that you may specify, expand or contract, and organize as you please.

Back at the main menu, select "View > Toolbars" and assure that "Search Buttons" is selected. In the skin Phoenity (which is the one supplied with the program), the Search Button looks like a globe with a magnifying glass in front of it.

You may type any search term in the url address bar. If you left-click on the Search Button, the top-most search engine in the Advanced Preferences list is used for the search. If you make Google your top-most search engine in the list, it will be your default search engine.

If you "left-click & hold" (do not release the mouse button) on the Search Button, the entire list of specified engines is displayed and you can drag the mouse pointer to the desired engine, release the mouse button, and that engine will be used. In this way your default might be Google, but for a specific search you may want to use, say, Wikipedia - and you can do this without having to navigate to Wikipedia first.

I hope this helps you.

Hello.
First of all, thanks for teaching me those features.
Second, I meant I would like to be able to write just "Google Notebook" click enter and get the site.

Just like Firefox, is that possible?

Thanks.

This doesn't work for me in version 1.1.2. It previously DID work for me with version 1.02.

Can someone help to determine why it seems to have stopped working for me?

The easiest thing is to make a bookmark with the nick g .

Simply copying the following link :

http://www.google.com/search?num=100&q=%s

that means "www.google.com/search?num=100&q=%s"
not just "www.google.com". Copy the link.

into the URL address bar, and press Enter.

Add that to Bookmarks.
Edit your bookmark, writing g into the line for the nick.

After that, you always only have to write the letter g ,
followed by your keyword into the URL address bar and
prfess the Enter key, to search for your keyword,
for example :
g Notebook

You can do the same for other search engines, using
for example y for Yahoo or m for MSN, using the respective
search string with %s at the end instead of the keyword.
