K-Meleon Web Browser Forum
Hello. IETab plugin for K-Meleon hasn't been updated for a long time. Doesn't work properly on version 1.5x. Why not make this feature default on K-Meleon since K-Meleon is a windows browser. Sometimes I need IE engine to view certain important, though few websites such as Windows Update for example.
I would also like to have K-Meleon use IE Favorites, and synchronily modify, change, add, and remove favorites in K-Meleon, and Favorites startup menu.
1.) IE-Tab never worked completely without faults. To make it better is not a K-Meleon development issue but an request to the plugin developers or plugins users (The developer of the plugin or an intersted user will have to do the update. It is not part of the K-Meleon core package. It was originally adapetd by interested K-Meleon users not by the K-Meleon devs ).
IMHO it is sufficient that K-Meleon natively has the "Open in IE" as default macro.
2.) K-Meleon can use/handle IE Favorites.
You activate IE Favorites plugin via - Perferences > Plugins
(or Advanced Preferences > K-Meleon Plugins).
IMHO the Favorites plugin is not ideal but sufficient & off by default & not better because few PPL and no dev seem to use it.
There is a macro named FavRenAdd in the MacroLibrary which addresses the problem of renaming a favorite when adding and also which folder/subfolder to add the shortcut. See http://kmeleon.sourceforge.net/wiki/KmmFavRenAdd
The "edit" item in the "favorites" menu will allow you to see additions made this way without restarting KM. There you also have the ability to modify and remove items.
