Dear developers, please do FF extensons folders support("extensions" folders in KM and Profile folders) and FF extension manager!!!
It will help of maximum support of FF extensions and installing it - especially for its options.
And we easily could do other - .kmm and other for full support of FF extensions.
And support of .xpi too, please !
Thanks at advance.

No, yo're wrong about FF ext manager, a lot of Firefox won't never work with K-Meleon.

And the ones which works have often needed modifications.

More, the one which works directly without crash need for the minimum to write kmm file for menus.

Do you think Firefox FF extension manager can write it alonetongue sticking out smiley

But, if you look at the 1.5.0 profile structure, you can see that chrome folder has been added.

I don't know if it works as I haven't test it and I just see it yesterday evening.

extension manager - needs to easy access to extensions "options" menu ...
- it basic function for extension work

"extension" folder - is the best way to easy start work an extesion...plus .kmm file will be added after that...

Firefox extension manager will on the attempt to install an extension do a check whether the extension author included K-Meleon into the list of supported applications. If he did not include K-Meleon the install will abort.

The older Mozilla XPI installer service was not capable of this version check. That is one of the reason why it is not used. It would work - we (kko & I) have tested it. The other - the XPI installer service is far less secure than our current extension installer that is maintained by alain (thx to him!).

BTW. SeaMonkey 2 will be based on Toolkit - and that provides e.g. Firefox XPI installer service. SeaMonkey project did this change in the hopes to get access to Firefox multiple extensions. They also have XUL based user surfaces.

When K-Meleon moves to GRE 1.9 which is inevitable. K-Meleon can have the toolkit functions also - but Win9.x and NT will go from the list of supported OS. And K-Meleon will still have Windows native user interfaces. = All extensions that only manipulate XUL or use Firefox XUL to import functions (like from a program library) will not work.

The change to 1.9 is unusually work intensive - PPL that only tried to recompile without working on the sources for 1.9 have complained about missing functions (e.g. Wallet)...

The new setup version and the Extension manager I'm making (KMES v2.10) allows to display which extensions are installed, and displays info about it, and also allows to uninstall it.

It will be online in about one month.
