I would like to see the available string length for the exec statement increased by a factor of four. I always seem to be playing games with macros in order to pass enough information to WScript.exe. 1024 seems like it would be enough to handle almost any situation. The current size of 255 plus or minus is just not enough.
You can try to use environments strings.
