When will Kmeleon have a scrolling like Opera? I took a look with both browser on some pages and you have to scroll more often to get to the end of the page if you use Kmeleon.

On some pages, I have to use wheel three times to get to the bottom of the page (Opera), and with Kmeleon five times. You can try it with portable Opera, which does not have to be installed.

Basically, with Opera with one scroll you can move further than Kmeleon.

Look at this page:

1 scroll for Opera to get to the bottom, 3-4 for Kmeleon.

Why don't use you middle click and move down to scroll?

Yes, clicking on the middle button enables pulling
the page down with the mouse without scrolling by
the mouse wheel.
Or else, if want you to go to the bottom of the page,
press the key "End" , to go to the top , press the
key "Home" , and you can also move up and down by
pressing the up and down arrow keys , or , in steps,
"Page up" and "Page down".
There is also an advantage in slow scrolling : you
can move more precisely.

I did this and it works. Thank you.

Edit -> Configuration -> Browser Configuration. (or go to about:config URL)
Filter pref: general.smoothScroll
Change value from false to true.

However, for us who use wheel all the time fast scrolling is:

- not time consuming
- better, because you do not not have to move your finger more frequently

But is true that slow scrolling is better because you can find data faster.

And moving with Home and End is not a bad idea. Just I am so used to a whell I just won't use them. smiling smiley

It drives me absolutely crazy that when I click on the middle button of my mouse, the scrolling arrow appears and functions perfectly. I just DON'T KNOW HOW TO TURN IT OFF!!

In any other browser just clicking that middle mouse button will make it disappear. But not in K-Meleon. I've tried everything I can think of. But once that confounded scroll arrow appears, I'm hamstrung. Cannot close the tab, cannot move to another tab. The only thing I can do is hit CTRL-ALT-DELETE and shut down K-Meleon altogether.

How the heck do I get rid of the damn thing??

I'm still on version 1.6 by the way.

I tried in 75.1 and 76 beta3u2 and just another click with my wheel (center button) and the scroll item disappears.

Single-click on and single-click off.

I'm stuck on 1.6 too (beta25/26), but for me it stops when middle-clicking again.
Perhaps try if any of the "scroll" options in about:config may help? Switching probably needs restart.

PS: am always shocked when people resurrect 7 (SEVEN!!) year old threads! That makes readers think that the described stuff were still current, even when it was already updated many years ago. Grmpff... ;-)

I just went into aboutconfig and changed "middlemouse.scrollbarPosition" from "default -- boolean -- false" to "user set -- boolean -- true". That seems to have solved the problem.

As for your other comment, I belong to another forum where they get quite indignant if you start a new thread when there is already a thread that relates to your query. So naturally I'm trained to look for any thread which might be appropriate to post my question in. Chacun à son goût I suppose.
