If KMeleon were to add the FireFox equivelant of Ghostery and Adblock Plus, I'd be in sheer heaven.

AdblockPlus has already a K-Meleon version (look at the adblockPlus site)

Thanks, I will check out ABP site now.......and XUL what? I'm not a developer or code writer; I don't know what that is!

XUL is an XML language which uses javascript. All the Mozilla programs interfaces are build with it.

It has the great advantage of being multi OS, and extensions have easy ways to modify menus, ...

It has the big disadvantage to be long to execute, and more sensible to security problems than the way used by K-Meleon.

I think you meant sensitive :-). Sensible would mean the opposite in this case.

Mozilla Corp's two main browsers (Seamonkey and Firefox) use XUL software emulation language to run addons and extensions (XPI). This overhead slows down the browser. K-Meleon uses a windows-based script language instead, which speeds up the browser and is more secure. As a result, only some of the XUL/XPI exetnsions out there for Seamonkey and Firefox can be adapted for K-Meleon, but that list is growing daily.
