i'm fairly ignorant about how these things are structured, but isn't it theoretically possible to keep the basic functions of the browser stripped down, and allow users to choose their own happy degree of bloatedness by adding additional functionality in the form of plugins? this seems to be ideal, since The Perfect Browser seems to take a slightly different shape in the minds of different people... maybe the perfect browser is one with very few inherent features, and an easy way to stack on the extra ones you need... you know, modular. that idea has always been one i liked.

hmmm... have you downloaded the latest version of kmeleon? you can disable all the plugins and get pretty much nothing but a url bar and a browser window.

yeah, that's what i've got going now (well, and the history plugin)... i guess what i'm saying is that it would be nice to *keep* it more or less that way.

while improving stability, etc, of course...
