So the sessions-kplugin may have some issues with local filesystem...

Something goes wrong. KM never finishes the autoload of previous/last session if a tab contains an html file from browser/res.

This is what I had:

This is what I got upon the next start:

K-Meleon start page in tab one is empty and Macrolanguage in tab two never finishes loading.

This action was succesful in K-Meleon 74.

And in another thread here it was just mentioned:
"about:downloads" is missing in menus yet.

@ siria

I did a little fix for this. ( see link below )

Do you think the position in the stack of items under VIEW, is OK?
It is a little hard for me to determine what menu item generates each heading. I gave up and stuck it at the bottom.

A few simple peanuts still need fixing:

compact menu: offline and OpenFile are still missing

Some native macros are still declared "user-defined" macros in F2:
places tuxhelper uagent useragentmode

Has 2 useragent macros, both show up in tools menu. uagent.kmm should be deleted.

Clear actions: there is a confirmation for ClearAll now, but would be important to have it for passwords, history etc too.

The Error Console gives no line numbers anymore for kmm-errors?

Zoom-Reset resets only text zoom, not page zoom - or is it just me?
(have wasted yet again endless time trying to find some way to figure out this fullzoom-level for my macros, for info or somehow resetting, but still no chance, sigh)
Wish: would there be a way to have shift+wheel do only text-zoom, while keeping ctrl+wheel for full-zoom?
Am using currently a shortcut "CTRL+MButton" to toggle "browser.zoom.full", but find it's too confusing to have both functions on the same keys. The text-zoom-reset on this shortcut is great though. Doesn't seem to interfere with link-open modes, at least not by default.

I've always had that problem in KM74, so it doesn't seem to be a new issue in KM75.

Like Edit>Config>Toolbars+Menuicons is "not found", just a few simple things.

Here is an update to an earlier fix that I posted in February. This one finds toolbar and menu icon source files.

Note: I am not a wordsmith. I know the warning needs better language.

For safety, back up your current cfg.kmm file prior to extracting mine.

If you zoom by menu, then zoom reset will reset the page. However when I use CTRL + mouse wheel, zoom reset has no effect. I think it is because each menu zoom is a specific amount, but the mouse wheel is not. Look at the status bar when zooming each way. The menu method displays a value but the mouse wheel method does not.

I, too, fought that battle. I finally gave up.

Edit > Configuration > Toolbars

If you're using the KM75 default skin, it probably reports "Not found"?
In that case go manually find "toolbars.cfg" in folder ..browser/defaults/settings, and copy that file into folder ..skins/default

That is where all the buttons are defined, except the macro-created ones.
Now open that file and remove the comment signs # before the buttons you want to see.
Tip: there are several buttons hidden by default, and you can create there more buttons yourself if you wish.

PS: Note that you can right-click on the privbar buttons to get a menu with more actions!

Does not fix local files either.

So we have:
1) session did not handle unicode path correctly
2) crash when sessions.json is not found and kmeleon not in english (triggered by 1)
3) crash when restoring sessions with pages without icon (and therefore local files)

And you're telling me nothing is fixed :s

Because the name of the image used for Menu Icons in skin.cfg may not be "Menu Icons", I wondered how a user who did not design the skin would be able to find the correct image.

I did a little test. So far I have not seen any bad effects as the result of my test. The test was to add a comment to the image line in the JASON type file which is skin.cfg.

   "images":[ { "name":"menu.bmp", "width":16, "height":16, "comment":"Menu Icons" } ],
And this one I added also.
    "images":[ { "name": "tools0.bmp", "width":16, "height":16, "comment":"Main Bar" } ],

Now, I guess we need to wait for Dorian to ascertain if this will be a problem or a solution.

Does the session load if you use Windows instead Tabs?

I only get empty windows when choosing the Sessions menu>load session>previous session.

Updating my previous post on session autostart, I have run a completely different test. I installed 75 RC2 on another computer. There are no other copies of KM on that computer. I put no macros or skins into that install of KM. I changed only a couple of preferences. I have the menu showing, no tab bar unless more than one tab, loading shows in tab title, not showing x to close on tab, favorites instead of bookmarks, clearing cookies at end of session, and tabs below toolbars.

I opened three tabs to various pages in our forum and wiki. I used session options to auto start the last session. I closed KM with File > exit.

Upon starting KM again, there were three tabs showing. Only the third tab was showing a page. Tabs one and two showed empty. They did load when I clicked on each. K-Meleon did not hang or fail.

I added the update one and tried the test again. I got exactly the same result.

When I do this test on my desktop computer with all my macros, the same two tabs are empty, but the third tab hangs and I have to use task manager to stop the process. That is using 75 RC2 w/u1 and my macros loaded.

When I try the test on 75 RC, it works without a problem. I don't know how useful is this information, but it might help.

Since a restart with sessions did not hang in KMs without my macros, by the process of stopping all my macro and starting then one by one, I have found the one which causes the browser to hang.

I hope there is a work-a-round. With my old eyes, I really need this one.

There's a syntax error, between gmx.com and ")" is a ";"
Hey, not true, that's a bad forum bug, it adds that ";" automatically?!
In my post below too, automatically after links? Have now used a trick to remove it :cool:

Anyway, suggestion to test this instead:

_EaseRead_AutoRun {
$URLBAR=="http://www.gmx.com" ? $TextZoom=10 : $TextZoom=12;
}

I use a min-font size of 14, the default is way too tiny (was it zero?)
But looks like gmx has some huge text that you need to get smaller again, that's why you can't set the min-font bigger in general - right...?

Incidentally I've struggled like crazy again with TextZoom the last days, after giving up on FullZoom already. Turned out TextZoom has some weird counter prob in KM1.6, for example jumping right to 7 after loading a page makes the variable think this were 6. Jumping directly to 6 + 1x INCREASE is fine. Just mentioning, perhaps long since fixed in new KM, haven't tested yet.

Your code is better. I don't get a "hang" situation now.

First tab is not what is was before restart, but that happened with no easeread running at all.

The "while" loop was bad and could create an infinite loop since id(ID_FONT_INCREASE) do nothing if the page is not yet loaded, which happens because browser.sessionstore.restore_on_demand is now true by default

This pref seems also to break notab, i'll make a fix.
