Hi,
I'm using KM75 and I can´t login to www.mercadolibre.com.ar, which is an ebay like kind of site. The site requests a gotcha code to prove I'm not a robot, but even though I pass it, it keeps asking for it over and over again. Java and popups are enabled.

I think this may be a bug, but it might just me not knowing how to do it.

In EDIT > PREFERENCES > GUI APPEARANCE > AT STARTUP, I was trying to set the Window size. I could click on 'Edit' and enter a value for the Width, but I cannot seem to get a value accepted for Height.

I normally leave both of these fields blank, but I needed to test a new macro's appearance on an 800x600 px display.

Definitely a bug, James!

When you press 'Edit' for 'Window size' - only 'Width:' is activated.

And when you press 'Edit' for 'Window position' - then it gives access for 'Left' and... 'Height:' from 'Window size'...

So you can set both window dimensions but not the 'Top' shift for window.

Maybe I should of said it won't launch from the RSS button on the toolbar. I enabled the Mail/News toolbar icons and the RSS button doesn't launch NewsFox. But I can live with launching it your way for now. Thanks!

Seems like a bug. No clue really, but would a simple link help, on that button?
if you open main.kmm in notepad and replace
macros($RSS); with opentab("chrome://newsfox/content/newsfox.xul");
(or opennew if you prefer a new Window)

Hey!

Two bugs I noticed:

1)If using a custom default zoom (let's say 90%) and I close the tab, then when I reopen it via "Open Last Closed tab", the zoom for this particular tab is 100%. Same holds after loading a session that resulted in a crash. This has happened to me in previous versions of 75 as well.

2)There is some kind of weird thing going in some(?) addons settings. For example in the AdBlock addon, whenever I click on "Filter Preferences" the window that pops up has always the same dimensions. However, if I change the dimensions of the window and then move the vertical tab that parts the two sub-windows (the names of the filter categories and the actual filter rules), then whenever I re-open "Filter preferences", only the new position of the vertical tab is remembered (not the dimensions), which results in extremely narrow vertical sub-catgories. This behavior started with latest(?) Km75.z (date of executable: 25.05.2015) This is not a top-priority issue and I am sorry if this doesn't make any sense.


And a request: Is there an easy way to report the actual k-meleon build running? "About K-Meleon" shows only vague things regarding the release.

Once set the new preferences created by Dorian, kmeleon.display.xulwidth and kmeleon.display.xulheight, all my XUL windows open in 800x600 (the size I set for myself).

EDIT1: I'll test now in tabs and I tell.

EDIT2: except for httpmonitor, that opens in a tab instead in a new window, that I don't know why, as doesn't happen in windows mode, all XUL windows open with the same size.

Might be that, as with httpmonitor, some XUL windows don't obey to open in a new window and open instead in a tab :-?

EDIT3: Oh, sorry, httpmonitor kmm has OpenURL_InNew instead OpenURL_InNewWindow and that causes it when using tabs instead windows.

Well, I should also say that you may not want to accept really ALL cookies - by the privacy reasons.

So you can set preference back to 'From the originating site only' and add the exception for the domain that hosts authorizing procedure for your site.

You need to know the right address of that domain - I cannot say what is it, but you can look at status bar while it checks your registration - text there should inform you about registration site url (saying smth like 'transferring data from XXXXX.com').

I use other way - look into source code of the page. And I can see that (with high probability) your target domain is

mlstatic.com

So you need to go Tools->Privacy->Permissions->Cookies (Herramientos->Privacidad->Permisos->Cookies, right? :cool

type there this address - despues 'Permitir', despues 'Cerrar'

OpenURL_InNew in httpmonitor macro may have been on purpose and might not be a typo.

Becuase if httpmonitor is in tab instead of new window so do not have to search which tab that or windows you are monitoring.

Searching a particuar tab or windows can be a pain at times. The httpmonitor macro prevents that pain becuase it is right next to the tan or window being monitored in a tab.

Add URL chrome://newsfox/content/newsfox.xul to Configure News... and use the "Read News" button.

- Or modify on main.kmm the RSS macro to replace:

No, but I've made a little change to the delete function which may fix it.

Using enabled parameter in function RegisterCmd on the button has the effect of freezing, not disabling.

There missing possibility to add toolbar and toolbar item with text, this is only possible to make in 'Main' toolbar.
Also, there missing possibility to add toolbar item with icon and with text.
Toolbar item should look as a menu item, try this example:

It would be nice to make this possible in the coming days, the rest of the things planned for this you can use to impress us later.

Just remembered two forgotten bugs in the compact menu:
"File Open" and "Work Offline" are still missing completely when the menu bar is hidden. About all other commands are copied to the compact menu or available in other ways.

2 things, that I want to be in next KM.

First - easy one, which I add myself to the every new build. It's just about add some lost lines back to browser\defaults\preferences\kmeleon.js:

Possible bug with Win XP -

Has anyone tried the command ID "ID_APP_RESTART" when running under XP?

On my old laptop this command closes KM but fails to restart KM.

My system is Windows XP Pro v 2002 service pack 3.

Yes, James, I was faced with the same behavior even under Win 7 and also confirm it for XP.

Being more precise after some research I have to say:

1) RC3 restarts as process, but fails to create it's window.
2) If there is running instance of old KM75 RC1 (where restart works) same time - than RC3 creates new tab (how it is set by me) or window there.

3) All this relates only to the last update (RC3u4). RC3u3 restarts fine.

That is a bit strange. I just tried Restart2.kmm in my Win 7 (32 bit) machine using the code Dorian posted on 27 May. No problem at all. I get a good restart. I think this is the same code known as RC3u4. Actually it may be RC3u4a as I have the newest JSBridge.dll in there.

Any news regarding a new update of it?

Today I think I finally confirmed, but, please, re-confirm.

The history will Open (the first menu command of the context menu or just click on an item) the item in the last opened window, not in the window the history has been called from.

This is annoying because, in the end, it replaces the page of the last window. Worst if in that page there is a process where shouldn't/couldn't be used a back command.

Note, this happens with tabbed browsing and window browsing, as the last window is replaced anyway.

The only difference is that in tabbed browsing, using a single window, it isn't replaced the last tab (as a comparison in the behavior to windows), but the tab the history has been called from. In other words, working with tabs doesn't have this behavior as long as you aren't using more than one window in tabbed browsing.

EDIT: briefing:

Just clicking an iten in the history

- tabs, replace the tab from where the history has been called
- windows, replace ever the last window regardless where the history has been called from

I think I can confirm. I had three tabs open in this window and a single tab open in a second window. The second window was opened last. I called History from a tab in this window and the item upon which I clicked there opened in my single tab of the second window.

I have noticed that if I create a skins folder in my profile and include in that folder, a folder named 'shared' then that shared folder appears in the drop down list of available skins within the appearance items in preferences. The shared folder from the root\skins folder does not appear. The root\skins\shared folder is excluded in code somewhere, but that exclusion was not carried over to the folders located in the user's profile.

This could create the false impression for a novice user that a skin named 'shared' existed and could be used.
