Thx, Dorian, but deleting the startupCache didn't change anything for the password manager - still no password remembering.

The problem with the history is that when I click on the first three items - by date and site, by site, by date - nothing happens, I cannot see the websites, urls etc.; the last two - most visited, last visited - function normally.

semi-OT: Mozilla finally fixed bug 77999.

I wonder if K-Meleon will check this patch in?

IMHO this is likely to come not with 76(esr38) but 77(esr45)?

AFAIR by standard policy K-Meleon dev in the past mostly avoided to patch the GRE.
Unless a patch was critical for K-Meleon's functions.

I don't want to cause confusion whereby people think these improvements are part of Firefox 39, because they only landed in 41.

Will this make it to the ESR 38 branch, or will I be waiting for ESR 38+7=45?

Comment 61 Boris Zbarsky [:bz] 2015-09-25 09:33:47 PDT

The latter. This is not a critical security fix or critical web compat fix, so isn't suitable for uplift to ESR even if we ignore the complexity of the changes and the number of other things that would need to be backported (see the dependency tree of this bug).

He will need kernel32.dll French version IMHO. IP from Toulouse.

I'm not sure if it matters, but I can always give mine.

Yes or he can extract from a French update as robocop suggests.

No idea whether it matters any for the French version or French speakers but the German version contains a message table with some 2800 lines of German strings.

1 MESSAGETABLE
{
0, "Der Vorgang wurde erfolgreich beendet."
1, "Unzulässige Funktion."
2, "Das System kann die angegebene Datei nicht finden."
3, "Das System kann den angegebenen Pfad nicht finden......

BTW. OT. And it is the first time that I hear that software stopped working after the XP SP3 update. Though it sounds like the normal idiocy of "we stop running this software because it is not save to run" :O (after 20 years of yeoman service on Your system this message about your favourite program comes as a surprise tongue sticking out smiley).

OT. Maybe best to create a double boot XP system update one of the two to SP3 and have a look. Most of the less popular features of SP3 can be deactivated by XP antispy and some by autoruns by MS Sysinternals.

@Zero3k, yeah the black thing is weird, I have the same thing with firefox, not sure why they changed it.

Is it fixable or not?

Maybe firefox has an option, it should work for kmeleon.

I don't see any option to stop it from occurring.

It seem to be related to the gfx buffer from what a person in a chatroom for Firefox told me.

Today I encountered a new problem with 76 Alpha. When you click Page properties with the right mouse click Links and Images do not show up. The only thing I see is a black background.

Can this be remedied?

Thx in advance

It would have been really nice if You had given the page/URL where You encountered Your error and Your system specs.

It raises a security exception after I call Page properties -> pictures.

Yeast. Frame's script is on a 3 party domain.

Yes, docinfo.kmm functionality is broken.

I think this is because of blocking InjectJS command

Clueless but curious: would it help to allow those mixed-content prefs that you mentioned just recently? Although I thought they were meant for httpS, but anyway...
pref("security.mixed_content.block_active_content",false);
pref("security.mixed_content.block_display_content",false);

InjectJS is broken? Oh, major desaster, but Dorian will surely fix smiling smiley
So Johns DocInfoMore macro doesn't run either...?

Hi Dorian - I'm still using 75.0, check my signature for the hardware etc. The "black thing" (when it does happen) seems to happen on slow-loading pages. I have not seen any pattern to it. It seems not to be affected by the user agent string. The "black thing" does preserve some elements from the previous screen, usually the tool-tips, so it may be a rendering issue? FWIW, I'm using the Windows "Classic Desktop" with the Classic Menu from ClassicShell.

Having said all that, I have not actually set out to reproduce the problem, it has never been a real issue for me.

Gordon.

Gordon,
I have just the same behaviour on the very different setup, so it's the general issue not specific to some hardware config.

@rodocop - Yes, I think I agree. It looks like it's probably a rendering issue when not enough page has arrived and the painting has to wait.

Whatever, I'm certainly not worried about it. Just happy I have a browser which works.

Gordon.

Quick fix for the password manager (until the whole e10s thing is fixed, if that ever happen)

Replace omni.ja/modules/LoginManagerContent.jsm with attached file.
And delete omni.ja/jsloader/resource/gre/modules/LoginManagerContent.jsm

How to solve problem with passwords ?
I don't have dir jsloader/resource/gre/modules/ and any "LoginManagerContent.jsm" file in KM dir. What is this anyway ?

omni.ja is a zip file. You have to look inside.

In KM 76 Alpha I am getting answers to injectJS() which are in the wrong character set - Chinese.

The information is datetime and is coming in this macro.

In KM 76 Alpha I cannot seem to set a certificate exception. The US Veterans Affairs Dept. has always needed an exception the first time I use the site in a new KM. Once set, I never have to do a 'continue' again. In 76 I seem to need to do a 'continue' to every new part of the site.

Dorian

Most likely due to some mistake that I have made. I think that I will dump my current 76 and start over because I can't get logins to work either. Will report findings later.

Well, I did it all again. KM76a is not remembering my logins. Below is the method that I used:

Oct. 16
Working backwards through the thread. Downloaded the following:

history.zip
LoginManagerContent.jsm
K-Meleon76a.7z

Running as admim.
Deleted everything from C:\Program Files\K-Meleon76Alpha
Extracted KM 76a to K-Meleon76Alpha

Started KM76
New plugin adblock loaded. ( note to include in main.kmm? )
Use 'Settings' to obtain Preferences and un-check hide menu line.
Exit and restart KM.
View configuration - obtain Profile location - make desktop shortcut for profile
Confirm the dependentlibs.list file (76 bytes) exists.
Exit KM.
Go to Omni76 work area folder and delete everything there.
Copy the root\omni.ja file to the work area and extract using 7-Zip.
Got a warning there was data after the payload data. SOMETHING LOST???
Replace LoginManagerContent.jsm file.
Rename omni.ja to oldomni.ja.
Select everything except oldomni.ja and use 7-Zip create a zip using store.
Rename the new zip to omni.ja.
Replace the file in root km.

I must have made the same error again this try. It does not even offer to remember my login.

My report is about some strаnge type of bug which can be reproduced (not only this way but I don't know about other buggу implementations) with loading the html-page, prepared with one old macro by JamesD, siria et al...

This macro adds working origin link to the saved webpages. The final macrоcode I use is here:
something in kmm-code doesn't allow to this message be posted, sorry

please get the ready macro by this link

So the bug is that REOPENING of such a page from HDD (whatever page you'll save with macro) crashes every KM-build starting with exe from 31/08/2015. It affects 75.1RCs, 75.1 final and 76alpha.

Other html-pages I've tried to open - don't lead to crash here
At the same time that 'buggy' pages don't crash previous KM-builds (tested with 75.1 from 12/08/2015, 75.0, 74, 1.6...) as well as other browsers. Only affects newest builds mentioned.

I think this marks some internal error inside newest KMs. And only such fоrmed pages can uncover that error...

Tried to reproduce that now. For an hour, tried really hard, various KM-versions, macros etc.! But no chance - no crash ;-)
Also tried with the russian readme-page. Works fine too.
