Funny, because we are talking of, not only different K-meleon versions, but different Windows versions.

At least in one should work! winking smiley

Lets see what the others report.

"nosniff" and "block" sound like could be culprits, ...
Unlikely.
Both old Opera Presto and Firefox ESR 45.2.0 have no problem with the image proprities.
It's only K-Meleon 75.1. Didn't test with 76RC.
I am on Win7.

From the download link. That seems the one in the page I posted. That shows the info correctly, but not after the download link.

First pic was made after reaching the site and before clicking on "Download".
If I click the dowload-button (and cookies are enabled) the picture pops up in a new window at its full size. The second pic was made from that window.
Is something I misunderstood or got wrong?

Not now, I think... But if the image has already been cached (the first try), it will show the image properties without problems. If it is cached is similar as when the redirected image is reloaded, in the scenario I presented earlier.

It is all so weird.

Mmmmm.

Ok, I see a difference between methods.

I'm so aggressive blocking popups and the way it works on DeviantArt doesn't let to open one (actually makes a check for a window open, if not, opens the image standalone, instead inside page).

Instead open by clicking download, open in new/same window/tab (I open in new window). You can disable javascript to have the same behavior. If you can still see the properties, it must be something different.

If you look at my pics you'll notice that they are showing different properties.
First one, image size: 600x849 and the second one at full size: 800x1132.
BTW, my HD cache is always disabled but of course memory cache is on.
If I open the download link in a new tab I can't see the image properties. After reloading the page I can.
However if I restart KM to clear the memory cache and open the image directly with this link then I can see the image properties without reload.

Well,
first pic by hermes doesn't give me info in KM Pro 75.10 but the PageInfo module reintegrated there from FF (thanks to naruman's work) - does the job.

@Yogi

Have in mind that that link isn't the one when used the "Download button".

The download button offers a link as:
http://www.deviantart.com/download/614121943/kw_by_sicarius8-da5mriv.jpg?token=somenumber&ts=somenumber

Not:
http://orig11.deviantart.net/e7d5/f/2016/160/7/5/kw_by_sicarius8-da5mriv.jpg

The image properties can't be shown when there is a redirect from "a" to "b", not when the image is directly linked/opened with "b" link.

Dorian!

When the locale is English, the menu item:
Tools->Privacy->Clear Data->Clear Automatically doesn't show the options panel to make choice what data to clear in auto way.

It works fine though in all other locales.

Seen from at least 76b3 to 76RCu1

P.S. Duplicated at bugtracker.

I'm running XP SP3 now, RC76 doesn't do anything, same problem with sumatra. I'm posting this message from this PC and KM version 75.1.
When I double click the exe it just do nothing. No error, no nothing. So there is something else, something related to the hardware. This is an ancient PC, AMD K6-2, 256MB of RAM. I got this PC from someone's garbage. Then I modified it a little, so it lets me run old classic games. At first it only had 64MB, then I have added to it more RAM, a Voodoo2 card, a new Hard Disk, a new CR2032 battery and some cleaning of course.

slayer,
you have the known SSE2-issue: your CPU doesn't support SSE2 instructions and KM76 is still limited to SSE2-compatible PCs.

For the people who still have XP SP2 and receive an error "GetLogicalProcessorInformation in library KERNEL32.dll...".

You don't need SP3. All you need is to install this update: http://thehotfixshare.net/board/index.php?autocom=downloads&showfile=4175

Then that error won't bother you anymore.

Holy sh*t! To turn off HTML5 on youtube we need to set to false these:

media.fragmented-mp4.enabled
media.ogg.enabled
media.wave.enabled
media.webm.enabled
media.windows-media-foundation.enabled

in about:config!

Especially f**cking !!! media.fragmented-mp4.enabled !!!

You can not only disable, but also to effectively switch (Flash / HTML5). Flash by default. I recorded a video on this topic:
http://kmeleonbrowser.org/forum/read.php?8,138447,138859,page=3#msg-138807 .
There are also about memory optimization. Unfortunately, the question nobody was interested.

I've updated the RC on sourceforge. No more SSE requirement (should really be good now >_<) and fixed privacy settings.

Should it be rc2 or something other than rc? Old name might be confusing.

Looks like there is a bug with the URL bar. When you click the drop-down button of the URL bar, it always chooses a URL to go no matter whether you choose or not choose that URL. My OS is WINXP SP3 CHS.

Dorian,

please, note, that russian locale contains now a regression to old kmeleon.dll with bug of 'string 62261' described and solved here (crush on zoom).

Please, use updated ru76-locale prepared by me.

I agree. Something to distinguish from original.

When I click the drop-down botton on the URL bar, a URL list pops up. Now if I hit the "ESC" key, Kmeleon will go to the first URL instead of just getting rid of the list.

Confirmed: SSE2 is not a problem anymore! Thanks Dorian!
Tests conducted on an old Celeron (supports only MMX,
see technical data https://yadi.sk/i/IGSusyKbsyzzH )
confirm this! This a real way for old PC's for work with HTML5!

However, if use the embeddable memory optimizer, consumption
is just ~150 MB of RAM with an astronomical number of tabs
(demonstration here: https://yadi.sk/d/tN_zVUN5sJakG ( 5.68 MB ~13.5 min ).
Recorded on windows 7 (as an example a modern system). But this works on XP+
( XP / 2003 / Vista / 2008 / 7 / 8 / 2012 / 10 / 2016 ).
info how to download https://yadi.sk/i/L5dOXIsesJanz

Part of a global mod for browser. Original post:

I do not see that happening on my system. The [esc] key removes the dropdown list, but I remain on the URL already in the URLBAR.

I tried without letting the cursor cause a URL to become highlighed and also when I had one of the items in my dropdown highlighted. The [esc] key removed the list. I also tested by clicking on the page, but outside of the dropdown. I got the same results as when I used the [esc] key.

Just to note that I am using Dorian's newest code loaded fresh. I do not reuse old profiles. I import my permissions, logins, and the places.sqlite, but set the preferences that I change by hand. This may not make any difference. It is just how I do it.

I am using Win 10 64 bit. Can the settings in the operating system impact this? My memory not so good, but is there one about whether one click or double click to do something? I will need to go look at my settings to check.

JamesD, Thank you very much for your reply.

I did a little more tests and found the bug is related to the options of what locations should be added to the URL bar list.
In Preferences-->Browsing-->History-->URL Bar History-->Determine what locations should be added to the list, if "Any visited location" is chosen, I will get the bug after a couple of links visited. If I change the option back to "Typed URLs only", the bug will be gone.
