K-MELEON 1.5.4
ADBLOCK PLUS 1.0.2

Hi,

I can't remove the ADBLOCK little grey toolbar under the tabs bar !
VIEW > TOOLBARS > ADBLOCK PLUS is unchecked...
kmeleon.toolband.Adblock Plus.visibility is false...

Using, for installation, ABP 7z archive found on K-MELEON site instead of ABP ZIP archive found on ABP site (as mentioned elsewhere in this forum...), don't solve problem and, more, freezes KM start !

Impossible to remove ABP toolbar with or without ABP icon in status bar...

Two workarounds :
a) TOOLS > ABP
b) Best : ABP icon near to "Go to" button in upright corner, in my unique bar...

If you use version 1.0.2 , you can remove the toolbar from the kmm file in macros folder.

open adblockplus.kmm by text editor , add # to the beginning of the line:

$OnSetup=$OnSetup."adblockplus_BuildToolbar;";

that should remove the toolbar icon forever .

Interesting, because I removed adblockplus.kmm long ago.
Didn't need the duplicated menu options in Tools.
Display of my ABP toolbar icon is toggled
by View -> Toolbars -> Adblock Plus and
that option was removed from ABP icon menu.

1) ABP Preferences says version 1.0.2
2) Only one adblockplus.kmm on my PC

Your adblockplus.kmm only adds a menu entry in Tools.

You can post a link to your ABP 1.0.2 / KM 1.5.4 package
with your unique bar included.

If your CPU doesn't support newer KM versions,
a fix for the old ABP version is needed.

There is 2 version of ABP 1.0.2 , one on KM site , without kplugins 'adblockplus.dll' & the one you use from adblockplus site.

Also the kmm file is different.

In anyway go to about:config & paste :

extensions.adblockplus.showintoolbar
&
extensions.adblockplus.showinstatusbar

in the filter then turn them to false maybe it solve the problem & i will look for another solution.

As said stability problem with ABP from KM site.

No change !
Both to false : no icon in status bar or toolbar.
Both to true : icon in status bar, no icon in toolbar.
And always the ABP toolbar...

Please backup your K-Meleon program folder
and profile and try a clean install of
KM 1.5.4 and AdBlock Plus 1.0.2 (official).

You can upload your clean install with profile
if the problem persists.

Attached 1 picture of KM 1.5.4 + ABP 1.0.2 (official) with
ABP in status bar and View->Toolbars->Adblock Plus disabled.

If no suitable solution is found here, I'll try going back to ABP 0.7.5.4. It worked just fine with KM 1.1.6.
I don't import filters list, I only use my custom filters.

Some other users report about this bug in old posts , in the mix of [km 1.5+AdBlockPlus 1.0.2 + win xp] & that's why AdBlockPlus 1.0.2\no-kplugin were created .

Go to edit>preferences>k-plugins uncheck the adblock plus restart KM ,Then reactivate it again.

If you still have the bug ,you will need to remove it , try AdBlockPlus 1.0.1 (its has no toolbar button bug) .

Use Extensions Manager to remove AdBlockPlus 1.0.2 , after you put this ini file in kmextensions folder (which not in the 'official' AdBlockPlus 1.0.2).

Also you can use Tools>Pirvacy>Block advertisement for ad blocking & edit >configuration> Ad-Blocking StyleSheet .

I have searched all files with *adblock* in KM folder and Application Data\KM and deleted them.
I have copied the files from your archive.
I have copied patterns.ini from my former installation containing my custom filters.
It works just fine !

Checking ABP in VIEW > TOOLBARS yields to a fine ABP icon in right side of my bar...

Nota :
I have tried to download LIST FR + EASYLIST : after that, KM takes hours to load !
I have deleted this garbage and use my custom filters as usual (ABP version surely too old for these lists...).

This memory leak also exists in ABP 1.0.1 adblockplus.dll and
was fixed in the re-release of ABP 1.0.2 we already tested.

If the updated adblockplus.dll (version 1.0.2) causes
the toolbar problem you can try to update to XP SP3.

I also noticed the slow starting of KM 1.5.4
with ABP compared to newer versions.

I'll make a little try with ABP 1.0.2 DLL on ABP 1.0.1 installation.

But now things are already fine for my modest usage !

EDIT :
With ABP 1.0.2 DLL, icon is at the right place, KM works fine with LIST FR but never load with EASYLIST.
I'll use whole 1.0.1 with LIST FR : no speed lack.
