Anybody care to talk about passwordmaker as a possible substitute for the next generation SQLite password manager that comes with Gecko 1.9.xxx? Or in addition to?
It seems it is designed to work with an earlier Gecko, but can it be adapted for the future with K-Meleon?

I'm afraid there is no way to avoid sqlite with Gecko 1.9.x but I'm not an expert in this matter.
Some alternatives for managing passwords or web accounts.

Old SeaMonkey sign on still works for K-Meleon 1.6.
I put it to a test. I copied my last pwd file to 1.6a2's used profile and inserted my needed string
user_pref("signon.SignonFileName", "32933458.s");
to profile's prefs.js. Result: K-Meleon 1.6 logged into this Forum on click.
If You look into components. Wallet.dll and xpt exist.
Dorian build them. He mailed that info.
When I tried to build wallet myself:
# -wallet, configure: error: Unrecognized extension provided to --enable-extensions: wallet.
A comment from my buildconfig.
K-Meleon 1.6. seems to use the earlier system - You'd give it a shot.
Provided You can download still.
CCF seems to support an alternative PWD manager. Have You looked into that?

Just saw your post. No, I've not looked at Hao's solution to the problem of finding a better password manager. I'll have to try Password Maker with 1.6alpha and CCF.

Hao uses cloud computing with his CCF version, LastPass.

I have been looking at opensource and found Passwordsafe.
http://passwordsafe.sourceforge.net/
I use it with the portable setting where all info is kept in the program's folder. Since I want to be somewhat portable with KM, I put it here:
C:\Program Files\K-Meleon\Password Safe
Just started playing with it, so can't speak to how good or bad it is.
