Have a long list of SEARCH ENGINGES or USERAGENTS, stored in a separate *.js file?
Occasionally add a new entry or move old ones up and down, but now the pref numbers are a mess and manually overwriting 40 numbers each time too tedious?
- Open your re-arranged prefs list file (*.js) in K-Meleon (looks like text page)
- Click Edit > Prefs List: update numbers...
==> macro reads page,
counts new numbers top to bottom, copies new list to Clipboard
(if clipboard fails, modern KM versions (75+) write it as txt-file in a path defined in kmm)
- Check if it's okay, then paste new list manually into your file again (keep a backup)
- Restart browser.
Macro sortprefnumbers:
For K-Meleon 1.5.4 or newer.
The setclipboard command may not fully work in (beta?) KM versions.
If only pasting doesn't work, try other encoding settings for the file and/or the browser.
Thanks to foliator for a little example list
(lists in the default-prefs folder usually contain only "prefs" not "user_prefs", but may be different in profile folders)
INSTALLATION:
Copy attached kmm file into macros folder and restart browser.
UN-installation:
Delete kmm file again. Settings will stay.
(UPDATE v1.1: little bugfix)
