I created this extension being inspired by George Hall's job.

This macro adds button to quickly toggle HTML5 media prefs thus disabling or enabling corresponding media playback.



When switched off Flash will be used instead - if you have it installed or portable in KM plugins and if the site viewed supports such a substitution.

Attention! After install sets all the HTML5 media prefs used to true with HTML5.js in 'defaults\preferences'

Prefs affected:

media.fragmented-mp4.enabled
media.fragmented-mp4.exposed
media.windows-media-foundation.enabled
media.windows-media-foundation.play-stand-alone
media.windows-media-foundation.use-dxva
media.wmf.enabled
media.mediasource.enabled
media.webm.enabled
media.ogg.enabled
media.wave.enabled

Pref NOT affected:

media.autoplay.enabled

thanks for this HTML5 disabler addon for KM, rodocop.
now youtube videos using html5 no longer autoplay by themselves and I can switch to flash on there

since Youtube has recently killed flash completely, this HTML5 quick disabler extension for KM is now useless as it no longer works.

need something stronger from KM like this Youtube No Buffer addon:

if it can be ported to Kmeleon that would be nice. I hate it when HTML5 based Youtube videos autoplay from the start.

HTML5 switcher can be useful not only on YT.

Still suggest jojoplay.com instead YT to watch videos with Flash player
