GetSize - shows extended file properties

GetSize, developed by Lexi, is available on the Network extensions page, with the description:

retrieves additional information about a file including size and html headers in use.
menu entry: link context > file information | image context > image information
versions supported: 1.1.x - 1.5.x

I like to use it for checking the size of large downloads but I also like to see the size of images and other things.

It consists of a macro along with a GetSize.exe and GetSize.ini.

The default getsize.ini looks like this:

[Main]
UserAgent=Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; ru-RU; rv:1.8.1.4) Gecko/20070511 K-Meleon/1.1
TimeOut=10
ShowHeaders=1
AlwaysOnTop=1
;Proxy=127.0.0.1:8192
ProxySettingsAsIE=1
DownloadManager=..\oget\oGet.exe

[Language]
File=Ôàéë
Size=Ðàçìåð
ResponseTime=Âðåìÿ îòêëèêà
Headers=Çàãîëîâêè
Error=Îøèáêà
Unknown=Íåèçâåñòíî
DownloadFileWith=Çàêà÷àòü ýòîò ôàéë ñ

To switch the info box language (to English) make the following changes:

[Language]
File=File
Size=Size
ResponseTime=Response Time
Headers=Headers
Error=Error
Unknown=Unknown
DownloadFileWith=Download File With

I'm inclined to suggest the version on this site should be converted to English too, to match the already translated macro text. The screenshots above depict my translated version.

The English version download link is at the top of this posting.

The original Russian version can be downloaded from the author's site:

The Delphi source code for the EXE can be found in the ZIP listed here:

I like it - Thanks, you and Lexi! grinning smiley
Had tried a few other similar ones, like image properties plus, but none really worked well on win98.

As far as I know translations should be in the kml-files, that's what they are here for, and there's even one delivered with the macro. But no prob, I just added lots of good ole '#' in the ini-lines, that worked fine too grinning smiley

What I'm still missing though is one that shows all infos in one popup together:
File size in kB, size in pixel, alt-tag, title-tag, and cache-information!
Being in playing mood (as long as it's not too much work tongue sticking out smiley) I did a quick search now and then added that line at the end of the "getsize{" commands:
macros(DocInfo_Image);
Okay, now I have all infos except title tag, but in two separate popups, that cover each other, oh well ;-)

I'm glad I could bring it to your attention. :-) So, you added # to the beginning of the language lines in order to nullify them, clever! Taking a cue from that I deleted the language section entirely and can see that it works great, since the English words are obviously embedded in the getsize.exe and the language section of the INI is meant for easy translation to other languages. But if you ever need any more complex English to English 'translations' just let me know, hehe.

GetSize is helpful but it's not perfect, it will fail at times and seems to require a direct link. Just for the sake of mentioning it, when I used Firefox (rarely) I used Get File Size.

Great ext.
I'm still using it with KM 76 RC1.

Anyway - someone could add -7x at kmext:

versions supported: 1.1.x - 1.5.x -1.6.x
