is there a way i can remove the word "Layers:" from the layers bar? also, is there a way to remove the "(K-Meleon)" from the title bar? thanks
Just pop these into your prefs.js file:
user_pref("kmeleon.display.URLbarTitle", "");
user_pref("kmeleon.plugins.layers.title", "");
The first one removes the URL: title from the url bar (if you want to), and of course the second removes the Layers: title.
As for removing the K-Meleon title from the title bar, well you might have to use the program called ResHacker to do this. Do note that ResHacker is more for the experienced user, so be prepared ;-)

i have ResHacker but ive never used it, lol. i already removed the "URL:" not too long after i first dled KM. i now only have the "(K-Meleon)" to remove from the title bar and add some menus i want and KM will look just about like i want it ;-)

Hi efosb! I don't have an answer to your question, sorry.
But when I first learnt how to do this URL/Layers thing I changed "URL" to "Website" and "Layers" to "Tabs:" since that's what I'm most accustomed to. So when I show the browser to people they go, "Oh wow! It has tabbed browsing like Mozilla!" Oupsie! Only I know the real difference. Of course I do explain it to them latter. >;o)

Ok, the only things left for me to remove are the "(K-Meleon)" in the title bar and now since i upgraded to 0.8.1 some buttons i got rid of b4 r back and i cant remember how i removed them in the first place, lmao. can anyone tell me how to do either one of the above? (mainly the title bar one)
