I have found that K-meleon 0.82 under Win 95 OSR2 has problems when connecting with some sites like yahoo.com, for which it never finishes loading its home page.
Hence, I have profiled it with Dependency Walker and found a large number of error messages regarding modules and libraries not found. I am not including the output right now as the profile file alone takes 52K and I am not sure whether it is right to send it here or somewhere else.

Is it possible to solve these problems?

KM was not meant to be run under Win95 OSR2.
I believe the limit for Windows was 98SE.
KM does not use a large number of modules or libraries. What Dependency Walker was looking at and comparing it to was a Netscape build, most likely not Gecko based.

I have installed the dll update. It contains these dlls: mfc71, msvcp71 and msvcr71. None of them was causing error messages in the profile of k-meleon.exe.

I have both renamed the profile directory to force k-m to create a new one and made a fresh installation in a new directory. In neither case the errors sketched before disappear.

maybe try to google (search via) the missing library, download it and put it into k-m directory of that k-m that reports it as missing.

(that is normal procedure if any dll is missing or wanted
- sometimes repeated serveral times untill you have them all -
& i stopped wondering about windows system and what it wants long ago.).

does not exist in my system - i run WinME at the moment
- k-meleon 0.8.2+1.8.2 works - i write this entry with it.

my win xp has uxtheme.dll in system32.
that it is nt library is also my google result.
I do not know: why a nt dll is reported missing by Your windows 95!
( that = fatal error => as far as i understand the report that uxtheme.dll was
missing & that has given back the kill handle).

i do not know either why GKGFXWIN.DLL was calling instead of k-m.exe.
GKGFXWIN.DLL is a library - that is present with mozilla and dynamic
k-m (IMHO only very early test w-b had it as independent library)
AFAIK it is inside wechselbalg main exe with other dll from components now.

Copying missing or new versions of libraries into k-m directory not always works. For instance, a wininet.dll copied there from Win 98 SE is found, but shlwapi.dll and mfc42loc.dll are not found in k-m directory, and an error is reported because the second one is not found in \windows\system or because
missing functionality in the shlwapi.dll located in system directory. Copying mfc42loc.dll to \windows\system is no problem because there was no file like that, but replacing existing shlwapi.dll is another issue.

When reporting problems with the current version of the email client pc-pine I was told that the "solution" is to update internet explorer v. 3 because it is in fact a system update. I do not use IE, and considering the risk of upsetting a working system, probably I would prefer not to go that route. In particular because I have looked at k-m as it was recommended for small/outdated systems.

Instead, I have installed k-m 0.7, as suggested in this same thread and found that works reasonably well in my Win 95. This means that it does load pages that k-m 0.82 loads only partially or never begins to show. Indeed Dependency Walker does report errors when profiling 0.7 exe but it also shows differences
with k-m 0.82 profile that may be related to this better behavior. Besides, I find it faster than k-m 0.82.

As system requirements for k-m 0.82 include Win 95, I would suggest correcting this statement and including more details about what version of k-m works with which version of Windows.

The relevant branch that I see in modules dependency tree is (ommiting k-m directory):

k-meleon.exe > nspr4.dll > components\gkgfxwin.dll

and the latter calls several k-m and system libraries, including uxtheme.dll that it cannot find.
