I noticed that in most of the recently posted builds, the "save changes" function in TiddlyWiki no longer works. To see that for yourself, if you're not already a TiddlyWiki user, you'll need to save a local copy of TiddlyWiki and then try the "save changes" link. (It's a Wiki-like personal notebook implemented in HTML, CSS, and Javascript.)

By trial and error, i.e. downloading and installing many of the builds that have been posted to this forum, I determined that the last build in which TiddlyWiki works properly is K-MeleonCCF 0.020 PR8a. (Note: The "save changes" function doesn't seem to work in the stock K-Meleon 0.9 either.) By comparing the files in PR8a and PR9, I found that just replacing the chrome/en-US.jar file is sufficient to make "save changes" work. I've also been able to make it work in Guenter's WW0.9_1.7.8_2 and Fred's K-MeleonWW0.9_1.7.8-modified by replacing chrome/en-US.jar, although that makes the about: page look a little weird.

When TiddlyWiki's "save changes" works, what you'll see is an Internet Security popup saying that a script is requesting enhanced abilities. I think that popup is missing from the chrome/en-US.jar files in the recent builds. Anyway, I'm posting the information here in case anyone can step in and figure out what went wrong.

chrome en-US can be taken from older chromes=purely a translation file.
(i mixed German & En up - we use the same term/word for both...see national issues)
- the about.xhtml is in that file not neded to alter or shorten en-us.jar much...

Thanks for the info. I'll probably just copy the new about.xhtml into the PR8a en-US.jar for now. Later, I'll try to figure out what TiddlyWiki is actually using from that jar file.

You got that en-US.jar is only a translation file?
it can react with fault if anything is missing.

copying in new about.xhtml - depending on Your zip program?
You can try to copy paste inside. its in ... global. & regards.

p. s. You can use chrome from Wechselbalg that is older but has no known faults.

I did a little more experimentation.

What I found is if I add locale/en-US/communicator/security/caps.properties from the PR8a en-US.jar to the WW en-US.jar, then TiddlyWiki works! So security/caps.properties was the only required file that was missing.
