No Java in K-Meleon 0.6

I've installed Mozilla 0.9.5 and K-Meleon 0.6 on my Win98SE Machine.
Java 1.3.1_01 runs fine under Moz, but refuses to load properly under K.
Everytime I got dialog box with this message:
"Unable to obtain proxy configuration from Netscape Navigator 4.5 or later - fallback"
Which is then followed by another dialog box:
"Unable to obtain proxy configuration from Netscape Navigator 4.0.x - fallback"
I have not installed NN at all. Do I have to?
On the Java control panel aplet, I have tried both options for Proxies: "Use browser settings" and empty proxies.
Anyone can help with this one? TIA

Kemal,
What is listed when you enter "about:plugins" in the URL bar?

Make sure your useragent is set to "Default"

Jefff, you are right!
I was emulating Netscape 4.76.
Can we add this info to the K-Meleon 0.6 knowledge base?

Andrew,
Jeff's suggestion works for me.
I also found out that if I emulate MSIE, then the java runtime will complain that it is only meant for Netscape and I should download JRE for IE.

Is this a necessity? For instance, I've got Netscape 6.1 installed and my Browser Identification is set to N6.1. It works alright!

If it works for you, you can leave it as you set it. But, we won't guarantee that it will work with anything but the default setting.
